2016 Population By-census
It is an established practice from 1961 for Hong Kong to conduct a population census
once every 10 years and a by-census in the middle of the intercensal period. The 2016
Population By-census was conducted in the 34-day period from 30 June to 2 August 2016.
Centaline Property already has a database of the total stock of 1.19 million private
residential units in Hong Kong. It can also classify from the age and area of
buildings to calculate the turnover rate of each Housing Market Area and each estate.

many years, but many transaction records of old buildings, small area buildings, and
single buildings have not been able to provide free useful area information in the past.
