Centaline Club members experienced an unforgettable summer evening at Tak Ming Philharmonic Winds Celebration Concert, organized by the Hong Kong Tak Ming Philharmonic Society. This year’s theme, “Dancing with Fantasies,” brought together wind ensemble, euphonium solos, and dynamic dance, creating a vibrant multi-arts showcase.
The Hong Kong Tak Ming Philharmonic Society is committed to advancing musical culture in Hong Kong by organizing performances, collaborating with international ensembles, and fostering both musicianship and personal growth among young talents. World-Class Performances Light Up the Stage
Internationally renowned euphonium virtuoso Steven Mead made a triumphant return to Hong Kong, joined by his wife, Misa Mead, herself a decorated soloist. Together, they delivered captivating performances that showcased their exceptional artistry and deep musical expression. Steven Mead’s global reputation as a performer and educator, along with Misa Mead’s award-winning talent, offered the audience a rare treat—euphonium playing at its very finest.
A Night of Musical Diversity and Community Spirit
Conductors Kelvin Ngai and Jim Ho Ming led the Tak Ming Philharmonic Winds in a rich and varied program. The evening featured music from “Raiders of the Lost Ark,” the exotic sounds of “The Falcon of Egypt” and “Arabesque,” and beloved selections from “The Sound of Music.” Each piece transported the audience into a different musical world, demonstrating the orchestra’s versatility and passion.
Special guests from the Panda Fafa Social Club added a delightful touch with a children’s song-and-dance performance, making the event truly family-friendly and filling the concert hall with laughter and applause.
