Rhapsody in Blue - A masterpiece of classical music and jazz
This time, Cy Leo partnered with the Hong Kong Sinfonietta to perform a harmonica and orchestra version of Gershwin's classic “Rhapsody in Blue”, specially adapted for harmonica virtuoso Adler. “Rhapsody in Blue” combines the principles of classical music with elements of jazz, making it a classic that has survived to this day. In the evening's concert, Cy Leo performed the harmonica and band versions of "Rhapsody in Blue" and "Prelude and Dance", demonstrating his charisma and the uniqueness of harmonica sound, and became the centre of the stage, leaving the audience in a state of euphonic magic. Also, Hong Kong Sinfonietta performed “Alborada del Gracioso” and “Bolero” by Ravel, as well as “An American in Paris” by Gershwin. The concert brought Centaline Club Members a colourful evening of classical, blues and swing music. Members gave a warm applause to all the performers on the stage, bringing the evening's musical extravaganza to a beautiful conclusion.
