With over 45 years of establishment in Hong Kong, Centaline Property has become a household name in the real estate agency sector. During the recent two-day holiday, Centaline Club invited its Gold Members to a symphony concert that resonated with Hong Kong sentiments, offering a delightful café carnival experience through the power of music. Presented by the Hong Kong Sinfonietta, "McDull. Café Carnival à la Hong Kong" featured the beloved local cartoon character McDull paired with the iconic Hong Kong café theme, creating a unique musical experience. It broke the stereotypical impression of symphony music for the audience, especially children, immersing them in the raw and multifaceted power of classical music and opening up their own imaginary worlds. Many members took this opportunity to bond with their children, introducing them to Hong Kong's cultural charm and characteristics through entertainment. Attending this delightful café carnival were Mr. Addy Wong, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer - Asia Pacific of Centaline Property and Founding Chairman of Centaline Club, alongside Centaline colleagues, friends, and family, as well as Gold Members.
Outstanding Musicians and Artists Compose Hong Kong Memories
McDull, a shared memory across different age groups in Hong Kong, attracted numerous fans, with all tickets for the Centaline Club event being snapped up. Under the guidance of Yip Wing-si, Music Director Emeritus, the audience indulged in familiar tunes that evoked memories of delicious foods. McDull and his friends were cleverly incorporated into the performance, stirring up nostalgic feelings among the audience. The orchestra performed works including "The Moldau" from the original score of "The Story of Water" and "The Carnival of the Animals" from the original score of "The Carnival of a Hong Kong Cafe". The latter was performed by two international pianists, Li Jialing and Wu Meile, reaching the climax of the program. The orchestra also played the classic symphony piece "The Tale of Tsar Saltan: Flight of the Bumblebee", with its lively melody and vivid depiction reminding people of the sweetness of honey, transporting the audience into a vibrant café scene filled with endless joy and excitement. Special guest artist Ng Cheuk-yin impressed the audience with his portrayal of a café waiter, receiving continuous applause for his seamless coordination with the orchestra.
Music, Animation, and Café Create a Fun Atmosphere
A café itself is like a carnival, gathering local and international, Eastern and Western cuisines. The Hong Kong Sinfonietta's presentation of "McDull. Café Carnival à la Hong Kong" combined classical works, classic animation characters, and café ambiance, creating a carnival within a carnival that was a feast for the eyes! Besides musical performances, scenes from McDull's animations were shown on screen, particularly the classic scene of McDull and his mother ordering at the café, which never failed to elicit laughter from the over 1,000 audience members. Coupled with the orchestra's live accompaniment and interaction with the animation, the combination of visual and auditory effects added depth to the performance, immersing the audience in a world of fun and warmth. Finally, McDull made a personal appearance, delighting both adults and children, and the performance concluded amidst lively cheers and laughter.
